Who Are We

The Gospel of Life Disciples are an emerging Catholic ecclesial family of consecrated and lay persons committed to Jesus as our Way, Truth, and Life.

We seek holiness in daily life and strive to live the Gospel according to the spirit of St. Francis and St. Jeanne Jugan in a spirituality of communion. We live the corporal and spiritual works of mercy by accompanying frail elders with life-affirming care free of charge for the glory of God and the salvation of souls.

All Gospel of Life Dwellings are under the patronage of Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. John Paul II. The Gospel of Life Dwellings are personal care homes, sustained solely through charitable contributions, which welcome elders needing a stable home environment. Each person participates in making the house a home and contributes according to one’s possibilities.

Live-in volunteers (“LifeGuards”) assure a ministry of presence in collaboration with local neighborhood volunteers, in a spirit of solidarity, support, and mutual respect.

The mission of the Gospel of Life Disciples is to treasure people who are nearing the end of life and accompany them with life-affirming care.

Currently, the organization consists of three Gospel of Life Dwellings: St. John Paul II in Moore, Oklahoma; and St. Adelaide’s in Grand Prairie, Texas. The Gospel of Life Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

“Gospel of Life Dwellings are not facilities, nor are they nursing homes. They are little domestic churches, in the sense of the early Christians, where life is shared as a pilgrim journey, eating together and praying together, in the mutuality of daily life.”
